Challenge
Ocean vessels operate in high-salt, high-humidity environments causing rapid oil emulsification and severe corrosion; accelerated cylinder liner wear shortening maintenance intervals; limited resupply at sea requiring extended oil change intervals.
Solution
Adopted Denumarine MO-40 marine engine oil with excellent anti-emulsification and anti-corrosion properties. Combined with DENUKE marine environment dedicated rust preventive for internal engine corrosion protection.
Results
Engine oil change interval extended from 600 hours to 1200 hours, cylinder liner wear rate reduced by 50%, annual overhaul interval extended from 18 months to 30 months, vessel operating costs reduced by 25%.
